Our School

Is this the Right School for your Child?

Since 1886, students educated in the SABIS® Educational System have been accepted by, and succeeded at, the most prestigious universities in the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom and mainland Europe, the Middle and Far East and Australia. Practically all students in the SABIS® School Network are accepted at top universities. A high percentage of former students also achieve a post-graduate degree. Considering that admission is non-selective, this is a remarkable achievement.

As in the past, SABIS® will continue to review all aspects of the SABIS® Educational System on an ongoing basis. It will also continue to combine the valuable from the past with new technologies and methods, to provide an education that is robust and flexible enough to ensure that students are in the best position to meet the challenges of a rapidly and constantly changing world.

All aspects of the SABIS® Educational System are rigorous and disciplined. The educational programs, and the rules and policies that support them, have been developed and improved over several decades. These policies are based on sound academic principles, and have been tried and tested over several generations.

Although an all-round education is offered, the emphasis is on academic attainment. When students are taught well and their work guided, closely monitored and rectified, acceptance into university and success after acceptance, is within the grasp of almost all students.

In the SABIS® Educational System:

  • All students are prepared for university and a life of continuous learning; this includes those students who would be denied this opportunity in selective systems of education
  • All students are helped to realise their full potential, empowering them to make the right choices in life
  • All students grow in confidence and self-esteem
  • The maximum 'value' possible is added to all aspects of each student's education
  • All students are formed to become good citizens who contribute positively to their communities

In order to reap these benefits, the school requires that:

  • Students have at least a minimum basic knowledge in English and mathematics. If they do not, they must possess the determination to make up any deficiency through sustained hard work. The accelerated programmes that are available, help students to reach the required standard as quickly as possible
  • Students must accept and abide by the school rules
  • Parents give their full support to all of the school policies

If achieving the level of academic excellence required to warrant acceptance into top universities is not the priority of students and parents, then we would recommend that a less rigorous, less disciplined educational system be selected.

However, students and parents who share the values and aspirations of the school are in the right place. With the support of parents and the willingness of students to work, the school will spare no effort to ensure that each and every student achieves his or her maximum potential.
